The Eurostars Project PROFILES (Product Fingerprinting on a Large Scale) co-ordinated by nano4U is developing new solutions to extract digital fingerprints from a wide range of consumer products for product security applications in e-commerce warehouses and supply chains. Automated 2D and high-speed 3D micron-scale imaging extracts digital information from products and packaging. Specific information is then stored in an authentication database and immutably tracked in a blockchain.
